I think it’s probably the same for anyone there today like it was for me: walking past the tower and getting that lump in your throat, seeing “The truth shall set you free,” and wondering, what was the truth, you know? And then running to your classes across campus. It was awesome.
Joining Texas Exes was a rite of passage. It was one of the first things you did after you got your degree, after you graduated. And I was a Lifer, you know? It’s belonging to a family. Anytime I’m driving and I see that Life Member sticker, I’m like, “Oh. They’re one of us.”
