I got a degree in Geology. It didn’t start out as a family dynasty but my father got his BS in Geology from UT, and then I did, my daughter did, and my son-in-law did. So we have three generations and I have two granddaughters now. When they were born, the Geology Department sent them little onesies that said “Future Geoscientist” on them.
My sophomore year I took fencing. For our final our professor let us dress up in all our fencing gear and we ran around campus, across all these bridges like the one right outside the Alumni Center. It was teaching us that it was about the fun and the joy of it.
