I have fond memories of engineering. You spend a lot of time on that side of campus and you form bonds. The organization I was a part of, the National Society of Black Engineers, did regional and national conventions, which exposed us to this wide range of engineers, professional and collegiate—it was mind-blowing.
When you go out into the professional world and the University of Texas is on your résumé, it’s impressive. It says a lot.
